I want to bring positivity to fighting climate change

When I envision what a carbon-neutral future world could look like, every single image is something extraordinary. A clean, efficient human system, working in a symbiotic unity together with all other natural organisms on this planet. Cities that look like forests, clean air, efficient and optimized transportation, eradication of significant number of health issues, locally distributed healthcare, no more garbage, no more pollution, it sounds like an utopia….but the technology to make this happen is actually already in development, it is all possible!

Just look how beautiful:

In the past we have tried to optimize the world solely for the humans living in it, moving nature aside as we crowd the earth. As it turns out, the earth itself and its ecological systems are much more efficient than we are in keeping itself completely in balance. It uses exactly enough resources to retain stability and living conditions for each organism in their natural habitats. A natural system seems to take all externalities into account, as it efficiently works out the kinks until it reaches a stable equilibrium.

Our current ‘approach’ to survive is to strive for economic growth without compromise, there is no equilibrium, no stable state. We have to grow in order to survive or we’ll immediately self-destruct. What are we actually growing towards? But more importantly, how is growth defined? Clearly growth is already a fiction for many in society, only when you have free-to-spend capital, the ‘additional wealth’ accrues to you. As so many have already argued before me, the current ‘price’ of products does not take into account it’s true cost. As long as this is the case, we are mindlessly keeping a system in place that will never get to that natural balance.

So what’s next? How do I believe we can get to this beautiful envisioned future equilibrium… Changing hearts and minds is important, but real action even more. It doesn’t feel like changing my own behaviour and lifestyle moves the needle sufficiently, so I strive to do more. Find ways to build a community of rational thought. Use the power of knowledge and expertise combined with the continued role of capital to drive further development of the right alternatives to our current system. Stay tuned for announcements to come, for now, join me in seeing a beautiful end state instead of framing the fight just in sacrifice – as is very-well stated in the article below.

Thank you for reading!
